Embassy visits to Easpring sites in Finland and China

Easpring Finland’s Kotka battery material plant project is garnering interest in both Finland and China. Easpring recently had the pleasure of hosting the Finnish Ambassador to China in Changzhou, and representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Finland in Kotka.

At Easpring’s Changzhou factory in China, the first group of employees for the Kotka battery material factory is currently undergoing training. The group recently met a special guest from their home country when Finnish Ambassador to China, Mikko Kinnunen, visited the Changzhou factory on March 24, 2026.

During his visit, Kinnunen discussed with the Finnish employees who are studying cathode active material (CAM) production and familiarized himself with their training program.

Kinnunen emphasized the significance of the Kotka project and the ongoing training program as key drivers for cooperation between Finland and China. Through this training in China, Easpring Finland’s new employees are acquiring vital insights into the company’s world-class production expertise.

Guests were also welcomed in Kotka, where a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Finland visited the plant construction site on March 25, 2026. The visiting delegation was led by Chen Huixin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy. During the visit, Easpring Finland presented to the embassy representatives the progress of construction work and the operational practices ensuring the company adheres to high standards of health, safety, and environmental responsibility. The Embassy reiterated its strong support for the project, recognizing its role in fostering economic growth for both countries.

Construction work at Easpring Finland’s Kotka factory is progressing at a rapid pace. The main factory building reached its rooftop height in late 2025. Currently, production equipment installation is proceeding in parallel with the construction activities. Easpring Finland is preparing to produce its first product samples in summer 2026 and to start commercial production during 2027.

Established in March 2024, Easpring Finland New Materials Oy is a joint venture of which Beijing Easpring Material Technology Co., Ltd., listed in ChiNext, owns 70 percent and Finnish Minerals Group 30 percent.
